    Bei der subtraktiven Fertigung werden Formen durch Subtraktion von Material erreicht.   • Wie unterscheidet sich die CNC-Bearbeitung von der traditionellen Bearbeitung?

    Bei der traditionellen Bearbeitung betätigt ein erfahrener Maschinenbauer eine Maschine, entfernt oder bildet Metall. Dies geschieht nach den von Designern und Ingenieuren bereitgestellten Spezifikationen, in der Regel durch eine technische Zeichnung oder einen Entwurf. Sie verwenden Drehräder, Zifferblatte, Schalter, Spannstücke, Schrauben und eine Vielzahl von Schneidwerkzeugen aus gehärtetem Stahl, Karbid und industriellem Diamant, und verwenden dann Messinstrumente, um sicherzustellen, dass alle Abmessungen korrekt sind.

    CNC-Bearbeitung erfüllt die gleiche Funktion wie herkömmliche Bearbeitung von Metallschneiden, Bohren, Fräsen, Bohren, Schleifen und andere Metallumformungs- und -entfernungsfunktionen, aber CNC-Maschinen verwenden Computer-numerische Steuerung anstatt manuelle Steuerung durch einen Maschinisten.     Diese Art der Bearbeitung ist viel präziser und hat die traditionelle Bearbeitung (wenn auch nicht vollständig) in der Fertigung, Fertigung und industriellen Produktion ersetzt. Es verwendet mathematische Koordinaten und Rechenleistung, um das gleiche Ziel mit höchster Genauigkeit zu erreichen.
